History of the Ranch

A legacy of caring for the land and ensuring that it would be left better for future generations to come was established when the cattle ranch was founded in the 1950's. This is continued with good stewardship of the land being the highest priority, so that the land can continue to be cherished and enjoyed for generations to come. Being a family owned and operated enterprise means that plans and goals reach beyond the current business cycle and taking short cuts isn't an option. Tradition is balanced with new ideas and new science as new information and research becomes available. 

The 7 Triangle is a working cow-calf operation that helps ensure that high quality beef is available to the public. Breeding stock is chosen based on genetics that ensure they are hardy and suited to the land while being feed efficient and yielding the superior beef products that are required.

Only family and ranch employees had access to hunt this haven until the hunting season of 2001. This rugged country has mesquite flats, deep draws, and plentiful watering holes. Whitetail deer, feral hogs, turkeys, and quail are just a few varieties of the wildlife that call the ranch home.

Various improvements have been made over the years such as

• Brush sculpting-Maintaining a balance of open grass for grazing while ensuring there are sufficient areas of brush to provide the necessary cover for wildlife habitat. 
• Tank maintenance-During  dry periods mud and silt is removed from tanks 
• Diversification of forage- After removing dense brush if necessary native grasses are reseeded to ensure optimum plant variety
• Bees- Multiple bee hives are maintained throughout the ranch providing local honey as well as pollinating the wild plum and catclaw thickets
